This freebie is a close read activity for The Help by Kathyrn Stockett. I'm currently reading this book with my 8th grade GT students, and I just love it. It encourage them to experience a social awakening, explore the theme of justice, and find their own voices! At the end of the unit, students complete an argumentative paper and choose from one of three assessments: Creating a student documentary, producing a public service announcement (PSA), or completing a service project.
